London Handel Festival: A Coronation Made New

  • Trafalgar Square London, England, WC2N 4JJ United Kingdom (map)

Marking year since the coronation of King Charles III, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain join forces in a very special Coronation inspired collaborative performance.

Four of the UK’s most dynamic and acclaimed composers have been commissioned by the London Handel Festival to write companion pieces to Handel’s timeless Coronation Anthems.

Handel’s four Coronation Anthems have found their way into the heart of the British choral scene and have been performance at every British Coronation since King George II. This special concert celebrates the continued impact and legacy Handel has on musicians and audiences today. The new works performed promise to shine new light on some of his most popular works.

The performance is conducted by inspirational conductor Sofi Jeannin, making her London Handel Festival debut in this truly unique Handel inspired event. The performance is kindly supported by Michael Holley.
